Professional Profile

Scott E. Calvert represents insureds, claimants, beneficiaries and other victims of wrongfully denied insurance claims. He understands how stressful it can be when an insurance company improperly denies a person’s claim for insurance benefits. He has extensive experience in litigating bad faith and ERISA disputes involving short-term disability insurance, long-term disability insurance, life insurance, health insurance, long-term care insurance, Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice and property and casualty insurance. Mr. Calvert has handled hundreds of litigation matters resulting in millions of dollars recovered for clients from large insurance companies to individuals.

I am committed to aggressively fighting insurance companies who improperly deny valid claims to get our clients the insurance benefits they rightfully deserve. Nothing feels better than helping a struggling family get the money they are owed and that they truly need to survive.

Indeed, for almost a decade, Mr. Calvert actually represented insurance companies in claim denial litigation. He believes that the knowledge he gained representing insurers is one of the reasons he is so successful in getting insurance companies to pay policyholders the benefits they are owed.
Mr. Calvert also represents individuals in complex medical malpractice actions. In these cases, he works to ensure that negligent hospitals, medical centers, physicians and nurses are required to pay for medical care, treatment and services that our clients now need.
Mr. Calvert graduated from Stanford University in 1996, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. After working for one year as a file clerk at a large Orange County law firm, he attended Georgetown University Law Center, graduating in 2000. Until 2010, he represented large insurance companies in first party insurance litigation. Then, in 2011, he began representing consumers in their fights against insurance companies, hospitals and physicians.
